A wonderful candy filled confectionery window with the reflections of tourists gazing in. This was original taken while on a day outing to CatalinaIsland as part of the Gold Rush cruise aboard the Celebrity Cruise ship.
Sonia Mocnik is inspired by her surroundings; from cityscapes to the great outdoors. Vancouver born, she has always enjoyed creating art. She paints with the colours that move her from an urban scene to natures blooms. The energy of each captured moment comes back through brushing watercolour onto paper. Blooms become larger, chairs become vibrant, and people add a sense of mystery. Sonia is self-taught and has furthered her skills through art instruction with the Federation of Canadian Artists Foundations Program, as well as other art workshops in Canada and in Mexico. Plein Air and urban sketching are some of her favorite activities. She has won awards at the Harmony Arts Festival, Gibsons Plein Air, Semiahmoo Art Center Paint...
